After an illustrious career spanning several decades, Tomasz Jagielinski, the Senior Director of Research at Crane Payment Innovations, has announced his retirement, effective at the end of June. Jagielinski, who has held key positions at prominent organisations such as Cummins Allison, San Diego Magnetics, and Kodak, has been an invaluable contributor to the world of coin technology and numismatics.
Over the last 25 years, Tomasz Jagielinski has played a pivotal role in establishing the EVA Coin Group as a respected and well-known stakeholder within the global community dealing with Central Banks and mints. His expertise and dedication have been instrumental in forging strong relationships and ensuring the seamless introduction of the Euro currency. Thanks to Jagielinski’s contributions, the EVA members, along with the entire industry, saved substantial amounts during the transition from national currencies to the European one.
Through his profound knowledge and innovative insights, he ensured that the newly minted Euro coins could be easily detected by the sensors of vending machines, ultimately benefiting businesses and consumers alike.
Jagielinski’s retirement marks the end of an era in the coin industry. Colleagues and peers have described him as a “fountain of knowledge” when it comes to coins, acknowledging his immense contributions and the positive impact he has had on the industry. He will be greatly missed by all those who have had the privilege of working with him.
